# Make in India, Spec for India: Building Hardware for Indian Conditions

Global OEMs design for climate-controlled, 24/7 data centres in Dublin or Virginia. India is not that.

## The four variables we actually tune for

**Power:** Voltage sag during load-shedding transitions can kill lesser PSUs. We spec 80 Plus Platinum units rated for wide input and always pair servers with double-conversion UPS.

**Humidity:** Coastal installations (Mumbai, Chennai, Kochi) see 85%+ RH in monsoon. Corrosion on exposed contacts is a multi-year failure mode nobody budgets for. We conformal-coat control boards on request.

**Dust:** Delhi winter dust is a different animal from Bangalore dust. Both kill fans. We use washable filters rated for 99% capture at 10 microns.

**Ambient:** Global spec is 25°C intake. Indian reality is 30–35°C in many server rooms. Our systems are tested and validated at 35°C intake with full thermal headroom.

## Why this matters for procurement

A server bought on price-per-core wins the tender and loses the five-year TCO battle to anything that actually survives the operating environment. When we quote, we are quoting what works here, not what works in a brochure.
